We had the privilege of enjoying Dan direct the West Shore Youth Symphony of which our two sons were members. He had the warmth and energy that brought joy to the students, parents and audiences at all the performances. So many fond memories! Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

May our loving Lord wrap His arms of comfort, strength, love and peace around all of you. It is with a heavy heart that I extend my sympathy in the passing of Dan. I remember Dan,as the son of my teacher, Mr. Robert Meyers at MCC. May all those wonderful memories of Dan, help you in the days ahead, for, as I read Dan's accomplishments, there are many. So sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained more beautiful music. RIP Dan.

Dan was such a blessing to our church when my beloved Tom was Pastor. Your beautiful family shared your talent, gifts, love, with us for not just church services but for so many personal events. There are no words accept how sorry I am for your loss and the loss to the community, schools and all who were touched by Dan and his talent and love. Please know that you´re all engraved in my heart forever and the gift of wonderful memories will live on in my heart forever. I´m sure Tom met Dan at the heavenly gates with a tee time. I could just hear him say "hey Dan if you hit your ball in the water, Moses can get it parted n we will find it instantly" they loved fun, friendship and faith. They will be taking heaven by storm I´m sure! Love, prayers and memories are forever

Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dan's family. I got to know him while playing flute and tenor sax in the Manistee Community band, first under his Dad's leadership, and then his. He was truly a very musically talented man, and the world has been blessed by his love of music, his laughter and his genuine love of others. Prayers for his family's peace. God bless you all.

Mr. Meyers... the BEST band director .... So many awesome memories... the laughter... the fun but best of all.. he taught us hard work and so much pride in our playing marching, and HARD WORK ... always! The many trips we made to ludington and manistee on the 4th of July... so much fun! The SF marching band was the best with him at the helm. BTTW Mr. Meyers!! Will always have fond memories of you, marching. Field competitions and Bandorama at U of M .... What an awesome experience! I worked alongside Dan for 13 years at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Tom, Dan, and I shared a lot of laughter and many memorable moments during our long workdays. Unfortunately, life took us all in different directions, and I lost touch with both of them.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Dan´s passing, but I can say without hesitation that he made his mark through his music and his flair for life. My heart goes out to Melissa, the love of his life, and to his three daughters, whom he always bragged about with such joy. Dan will truly be missed.

Even though we didn´t see each other often over a he past several years, I have always considered Dan my best friend and I will miss him for the rest of my life. Hard to believe, but I remember the day we met 60 years ago in the sandbox next to his house on red Apple road just a few days after I moved just down the street at age 5. From that day we spent many years doing things together such as hunting with friends and family, riding around Manistee as young men, hanging out at his apartment at U of M, golfing, sharing in our wedding celebrations, and celebrating our childrens graduations. I could go on and on. I always admired his talent for music and leadership qualities. I will miss our occasional visits and reminiscing about the past and talking about things happening in our professional and personal life. I will cherish those memories forever. Rest in peace Dan. I will miss you. Tom Kaminski
